What I'm reading now
In which I discuss the Golden Compass by Philip Pullman & a couple of articles
I just finished a re-read of the Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. The last time I’d read it was in middle school. I watched part of the HBO series last year and it encouraged me to pick these up again. My takeaway? This series is way darker and more complex than I picked up on as a kid & armored bears are one of the greatest fantasy creatures to exist. I eagerly look forward to reading the rest of the trilogy this year.
This article by Kristen Martin exploring mortality in literature & discussing the new release, Your Hearts, Your Scars by Adina Talve-Goodwin that I promptly put on my TBR shelf
A blog post from the Unread Shelf about this month’s theme of reading courageously and the books I’m considering for the prompt:

b. 100 Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin
c. The Swimmers by Julia Otsuka
d. The Love Songs of W.E.B Dubois by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers
e. A Quiet Life by Ethan Joella
